One of the problems militating against tilapia farming in the country has to do with post harvest. Some farmers produce tilapia in large scale but they don't know where to sell them.
You need to add value to it by either freezing or smoking it. The problem of farmers now is that when they harvest tilapia, it does not stay too long outside the water because of the gills. It doesn't have lungs like the catfish. If they harvest and consumers do not buy on time, the farmers will lose because in less than 7 hours, tilapia will get rotten.
