Tanzania: Clerics Urge Continuation of Democratic Transition

Clerics have underscored the need for continued tradition of peaceful and democratic transition of leadership at the national level, the practice that earned Tanzania the reputation of being the most stable country South of Sahara.

Addressing journalists in Dar es Salaam, a member of the Dar es Salaam Interreligious Committee, Reverend Alphonce Temba, claimed that since Tanzania is a secular country, which is not affiliated with any religious belief, tolerance among its people who are of different faith has maintained peace and stability.
