South Africa: Municipality Apologises for Disruptions

Pretoria — The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has apologised to residents in the city who were affected by an illegal strike carried out by employees of the waste management division.

"We have also noted that about 15 to 20 municipal waste removal trucks were deliberately parked and left in the streets in order to disrupt traffic and to stop access of our customers into municipal buildings," City Manager Mpilo Mbambisa said.
