Mali: Arrest Warrants Issued Against Officials of Coordination of Azawad Movements Lifted

Bamako — The arrest warrants issued against the officials of the Coordination of Azawad Movements (CMA) were lifted on the request of the Malian government, a few days before the signing by the political-military group of the peace and reconciliation agreement with Bamako, said Thursday corroborating sources.

"The arrest warrants issued against CMA's officials were lifted on the request of the Malian government. The measure can be considered as a "sign of appeasement," a few days before the signing (on June 20) of the peace agreement by the rebels," said a governmental source, cited by the French news agency AFP.
