The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) joined the rest of the world to commemorate the 120th edition of the Olympic Day celebrations, an event which marked the founding of the modern Olympic Movement by Frenchman Pierre De Coubertin in 1894.
The event, held at the OlympAfrica Centre of the Serrekunda East Mini-Stadium on Tuesday, is a celebration for youth around the world to observe the Olympic values of fair play, perseverance, respect and sportsmanship. The day has been a firm pillar of the Olympic Movement and it is the biggest Mass Sports around the world to commemorate the De Coubertin's initiative.
