Liberia: Beaches Turned Into Public Toilets, Sea Driving Kids to Death

Beaches that are supposed to be an attraction for visitors, tourists and other amusement activities but in many parts of Monrovia, they are being turned into defecation sites. A visitor walking through the densely and congested slump communities of West Point and New Kru Town, was in awe at how residents dwelling in the areas are really coping with the sanitation issues.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for passersby to walk through the areas without stepping on heaps of dirt or feces as toilet buckets lay beside homes in the same area where many families take their bath and not too far where many fetch water to drink.
