Egypt: Cabinet Approves Anti-Terrorism Bill

The Egyptian Cabinet on Wednesday 1/7/2015 approved a bill on fighting terrorism. The Cabinet also approved other draft laws that are meant to achieve prompt justice and guarantee retribution for the martyrs.

The Cabinet, in a press release, indicated that these steps are being adopted at a time when the homeland is passing through a critical and hard phase where terrorism is escalating in a way that jeopardizes the safety and security of the nation and citizens. This terrorism has been clear in the assassination of the martyr of the nation and judiciary Prosecutor General Counselor Hisham Barakat and subsequent terrorist acts that targeted several innocent citizens including civilians and policemen along with Armed Forces personnel let alone the dangerous escalation that took place earlier on Wednesday 1/7/2015 in Sinai.
