LOW rainfall suppressed tea production in the first quarter of the year as total output dropped by 26.9 per cent.
Total tea production between January and March dropped to 81.7 million kilos compared to 111.9 million kilos over the same period last year as drought affected major growing regions leading to the poor harvest.
