Moshi — The Kilimanjaro National Park (KINAPA), is a government parastatal with the responsibility of protecting one of the 'giant' tourism destinations in Africa -the snow caped mountain. This is the only free standing mountain in the world christened 'The roof of Africa.'

KINAPA is working hard to ensure that local communities have a sense of ownership and a vested interest in the future of the parks by sharing the rewards of conservation and delivering tangible benefits.
