Ethiopia: About 750,000 Houses to Be Constructed in GTP II

The Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Construction said that about 750,000 houses would be constructed in GTP II to address housing shortage in the country.

Speaking at Civil Service Day marked at the National Theater yesterday, Minister Mekuria Haile said that government places emphasis on housing construction with a view to reducing urban poverty and improve lives of slum dwellers and to bring about socio-economic transformation. The major achievements in the urban sector and construction industry will be strengthened in the next GTP period, he added.
