Namibia: Trade Forum and Team Namibia Ink Agreement

Team Namibia and the Namibia Trade Forum recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual collaboration to facilitate cooperation in the context of the fourth National Development Plan (NDP4), Growth at Home strategy, and Vision 2030.

The MoU was signed by Daisry Mathias, outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Team Namibia, and Ndiitah Nghipondoka-Robiati, Chief Executive Officer of the NTF.Under the terms of the MoU, cooperation will include, but not be limited to the following: Data for policy collaboration, regular reciprocal feedback and involvement, data sharing, expertise sharing, alignment of mandate in respect of the "Growth at Home" and the National Development Plan (Phase 4) and partnership on Retail Charter Development and export promotion.The agreement was entered into on the basis of mutual respect and in a spirit of goodwill and does not affect the independence of the two institutions. The agreement will be reviewed once every five years or as the need may arise in view of changes in the relationship between the parties or the conditions.Registered as a Section 21 Company, the Namibia Trade Forum is an agency of the Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development. Its main objective is to institutionalise Public/Private dialogue and cooperation with emphasis on international and domestic trade as well as investment policies as stipulated by the fourth National Development Plan (NDP4).While Team Namibia is an association incorporate Not for Gain, registered under Section 21 of the Companies Act No. 32 of 1973 as amended, whose vision is to enable Namibians to advance their own economically sustainable future buy promoting the use of local products and services.
