Somalia: UN Slams Deadly Al Shabab Attacks in Mogadishu Hotels

Mogadishu — The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia (SRSG) Nicholas Kay condemned in the strongest terms yesterday's terrorist attacks on an AMISOM position and two hotels in Mogadishu city that resulted in the death and injuries of civilians, members of the security forces, AMISOM troops and Government officials. Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

"An attack during Iftar prayers, a sacred time for families and communities to come together, is an assault on the beliefs of Muslims all over the world."
