African governments were yesterday asked to allocate sufficient resources for data production to help the national statistics offices to cope with emerging new technologies and innovations on the development of statistics.
National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) Director General Albina Chuwa, speaking at a five-day symposium in Dar es Salaam, said the ever-increasing demand of quality statistics for policy formulation does not match with the availability of funds to support the production of such data and enhance the capacity of staff at National Statistical offices.
