Zimbabwe: Gwisai, ZCTU Call for Mass Action Against Controversial Supreme Court Ruling On Workers

THE Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has called on workers to stage mass protests until government intervenes to stop the on-going firing of workers by companies in the aftermath of last Friday' Supreme Court ruling.

Zimbabwe Labour Centre board member and trade unionist, Munyaradzi Gwisai, also made similar calls, saying the ruling that an employer can now terminate workers' contracts by merely giving an appropriate notice period without retrenchment packages was unacceptable.
