The National Primary Health Care Development Agency has said Nigeria is a step closer to eradicating polio this.
Executive Director of the agency, Dr Ado Muhammad said in a statement yesterday that: "If all pending laboratory investigations return negative in the next few weeks, Nigeria will officially be taken off the list of polio-endemic countries." It is a year since the last case of wild poliovirus infection was reported in a 16-month-old boy in Sumaila Local Government Council of Kano State.
