Mozambique: Nyusi Stresses "Informal Contacts" With Dhlakama

Maputo — Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi on Monday stressed the importance of informal contacts with Afonso Dhlakama, leader of the former rebel movement Renamo, in the hope that these might lead to positive results and the establishment of effective peace.

Speaking at a press conference in the town of Guro, winding up his working visit to the central province of Manica, Nyusi was responding to a question about a recent claim made by Dhlakama that informal contacts are under way.
