In 2005 a strip of 20m on either side of the Aloe Trail [length 1,7 km] was cleared of cacti by manual labour. No follow-up treatment was made.

By 2011 the cacti had regrown to such an extent that it was decided to destroy them by chemicals. The area treated in 2005 amounted to approx 6,8 ha. [1,7km x 40 m] The information on the cost could not be established altogether accurately, but amounted to N$ 34 000/ha at least.
