Nigeria: Akwa Ibom Farmers Use Insecticide Nets On Vegetable Farms

Uyo — The Roll Back Malaria (RBM) of the federal government has suffered setback in parts of Akwa Ibom State with the discovery by our Correspondent that many farmers now use the long lasting insecticide treated nets collected from various malaria campaigns to build walls around their vegetable farms.

A recent visit to some of the communities in the State showed that vegetable farmers whose farmlands are constantly under the attack of pests and domestic animals have now found new use for the free mosquito nets which are often collected during free health programmes and malaria campaigns in the state.
