Zambia: Petauke Teachers Burnt By Chemicals While Preparing Exams, One Dead

Some teachers contracted by the ministry of education to prepare practical exams for grade 9 pupils in Petauke have been severely burnt by chemicals they were using . One teacher has since died.

Elasto Banda, a teacher at Nsenya primary school in Petauke died after a day in hospital and was buried last Friday. One teacher is still battling for his life at St Francis Hospital in Katete District. The teacher still hospitalized was evacuated from Petauke hospital to St Francis, which has relatively better equipment than the hospital in Petauke.
