Somalia's Defense Minister General Abdulkadir Sheikh Ali Dini spoke last week highly of the importance of rebuilding the country's national army, noting that the "rebuilding of our national army" allows the country to thrive for a better progress. The Defense Minister attending the High-Level Partnership Forum held in Mogadishu last week emphasized that the rebuilding of the national army will have a milestone of significance for the development of the country. The Defense Minister highlighted the challenges facing the rebuilding of the army ranging from limited equipment and resources to underdeveloped national command and control system. He went on to note that "If the army sector is strengthened, then it will be an easy mission to eradicate the terrorists and take control of our country's peace and stability."
