Jos — The collaborative strategy initiated by the federal government and states in North-east and North-west to tackle cattle rustling may cause the rustlers to migrate to other parts of the country, especially Plateau State, a Deputy Inspector General of Police said yesterday. DIG Kakwe Christopher Katso, who is in charge of the "F" Department of Research and Planning at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, spoke to Area Command heads, the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and other unit heads of the police in the state, while on a visit to Jos.
The DIG, who was received by the state Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Oki, told the command that the operation to flush out cattle rustlers in those zones must elicit a proactive operation by the command in Plateau State, to check migration of the criminals there.
