Let me begin with the saying of UNAIDS Regional Director for eastern and southern Africa, Sheila Tlou, to elucidate about the status of HIV and AIDS around our time, "The time is ripe to drive the re-positioning of HIV prevention in a region that continues to see the largest number of new HIV infections globally. Thus I am delighted that, together with the UNFPA Regional Director, I will be taking forward a high-level drive to re-invigorate and revitalize HIV prevention within the region."
