Zimbabwe: Liberation War Landmines Claim 1,500 Lives, Sekeramayi

LANDMINES which were laid by the Rhodesians during the liberation struggle to stop freedom fighters from crossing into neighbouring countries have to date killed 1,550 civilians, 35 years after the war ended.

Over 2,000 people have also been injured with the majority permanently disabled, a senior government official told villagers recently.
