In August 5, 2011 on the recommendation of the federal government of Nigeria, the United Nations Environmental Program, UNEP published what many described as a comprehensive report on the state of the Ogoni environment cruelly devastated by decades of oil spill and its subsequent remedies. Coincidentally, the project was ordered when a Niger Delta son, Goodluck Jonathan was the President.
