Liberia: 'Am Suffering' - in His Own Words - Judge Melvin Johnson Writes

When reports surfaced this week that Judge Melvin Johnson, the fiancé of Ellen Corkrum, the fugitive former Managing Director of the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA) was recently arrested in the U.S. state of Georgia, eyebrows immediately turned to the pending efforts by the government of Liberia to extradite the pair from the U.S. in a bid for them to answer allegations of corruption and theft of public funds. FrontPageAfrica, quoting an unnamed senior Liberian government official reported this week that the arrest was unrelated to the Liberia case.

Less than 48 hours after the FPA publication, Ms. Corkrum contacted the FPA Publisher to alert that she had visited Mr. Johnson in his incarceration facility and he had jotted down a full explanation as to why he is currently behind bars.
