Kenya: Herbal Drug to Treat HIV

A Chinese doctor on Saturday launched a herbal medicine for treating HIV. Dr Tian Shengxun said the Tian Immunity Booster works differently from the conventional anti-retroviral therapy.

"TIB products are fusion inhibitors, which kill the HIV virus at the beginning of infection. TIB blocks the fusion between the HIV and CD4 cell, which means it can stop HIV from infecting the cell," he said. Shengxun launched the medicine at the Nairobi Women's Hospital on Saturday.
