Tunisia: Petition in HPR Bureau to Claim Formation of Investigation Committee On Suspicion of Corruption of Ivd President

Tunis — A petition was submitted by deputies to the bureau of the House of the People's Representatives (HPR) to claim the formation of an investigation committee over a corruption suspicion of the Truth and Dignity Authority (French:IVD) president Sihem Ben Sedrine.

Contacted, Wednesday, by TAP, Nidaa Tounes MP in HPR Mohamed Troudi said that this petition collected more than 70 signatures which, he said, represent the required quorum to constitute an investigation committee. In a statement to private radio, « Mosaïque FM », IVD president Sihem Ben Sedrine denied the accusations addressed to her, reminding that the « authority had submitted, last April, its financial and moral report for 2014 to the three presidencies (the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Ministry and the HPR Presidency), without receiving remarks or opposition to this report. »
