Teachers in Kenya are angry, very angry. When they thought they had everything under wraps in their agitation for better pay, somebody thought of reminding them not to count their eggs before they are hatched.

Sometime in June, the country's Industrial and Labour Relations Court ruled in their favour and said they were entitled to a hefty pay rise of 50-60 per cent. The government, through the Teachers Service Commission, went to the Court of Appeal to contest that decision. They were ordered to pay as directed by the lower court.
