Ambassador of Turkey Pays Courtesy Visit to President Adesina

The Ambassador of Turkey to Côte d'Ivoire, Esra Demir, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, on Monday, September 21 at the Bank's headquarters in Abidjan.

The President thanked the Ambassador for Turkey's contribution to the Bank's African Development Fund (ADF) window and called for continued support as the Bank prepares for the Mid Term Review of the ADF 13th Replenishment.

The President also congratulated Turkey for the successful Second Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit that took place in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, from November 19-21, 2014. At this meeting, a "Declaration on New Model of Partnership for the Strengthening of Sustainable Development and Integration" and "Turkey-Africa Joint Implementation Plan 2015-2019" were adopted.

The Ambassador reiterated the importance of the Bank's relationship with the Turkey, the Bank's participation in the forthcoming G20 Meetings in Istanbul as well as a planned Business Opportunity Seminar, to be jointly organized by the Government of Turkey and the Bank in Istanbul.
