The President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, met with Sidi Ould Tah, Director General of the Banque Arabe pour le Développement Economique en Afrique (BADEA), on Wednesday, September 16 in Abidjan to discuss cooperation between the organisations.

Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of their partnership and mutual collaboration for reaching Africa's Sustainable Development Goals. The organisations have a long history of cooperation, having co-financed projects worth USD 1.7 billion between 1975 and 2014.

The enhanced partnership will build on this foundation, focusing on energy, agriculture and regional integration, which are key priorities for the continent. It will also promote engagement with the private sector, a new mandate area for BADEA, which plans to draw lessons from the AfDB's experience.
