Central banks must listen and tailor their policies to protect the poor, and not hurt them, Dr Duvvuri Subbarao, the former head of the Reserve Bank of India, has advised.
While delivering a keynote speech at the Joseph Mubiru memorial lecture at Serena hotel on Wednesday, Subbarao said that while central banks such as Bank of Uganda were likely to follow global best practices, those policies need to be relevant to a country's situation.
