Africa: Importance of International Community to Peace Consolidation in Great Lakes Stressed

New York — The importance of greater engagement of the international community in the peace consolidation process in the continent was defended Tuesday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georges Chikoti at the end of the High-Level Meeting on the Agreement framework for the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Great Lakes, in which Angola attended with a delegation led by the Vice President of the Republic, Manuel Vicente.

The Government official who was speaking to the press after work, said that during the meeting taking place in the framework of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly, the vice president made the presentation of Angola's position as chairperson of the Conference of Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), and work in this area so far.
