Gambia: President Hosts Islamic Conference At State House

The president, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh Babili Mansa on Thursday organised a night-long Islamic conference at the presidency, bringing together venerable Islamic scholars as well as other ordinary Muslims at State House in Banjul.

The nightlong conclave, which featured sermons by erudite scholars such as Sheikh Cherno Darboe, Oustass Momodou Sarr, Aja Maimuna Savage and Sheikh Oustass Ayouba Sanneh, availed the scholars the platform to dilate on various selected topics mainly on Islam and other social issues that are confronting or impacting on Islamic religion as well as attitude of Muslims towards their religion.
