Nigeria: How Kuje Market Victims Were Killed

The Kuje market attacker of Friday night caused his mayhem by riding a motorcycle laden with an improvised explosive device (IED) to the busy market area and leaving the scene on the pretext that he was going to buy a recharge card nearby, witnesses have disclosed.

The motorcycle soon exploded, killing the people within reach while the bomber who had his plan well worked out was never seen, according to one of the eyewitnesses who said he narrowly escaped the market blast, which recorded many more deaths than those that occurred in front of Kuje Police Station and Nyanya Bus Station, because he left the scene to buy Akara (fried cake).
