Mozambique: Police Surround Dhlakama's Beira House

Maputo — Members of the riot police on Friday surrounded the house in Beira of Afonso Dhlakama, leader of Mozambique's former rebel movement, Renamo, in a tense stand-off eventually solved by the intervention of the Sofala provincial governor, Helena Taipo.

He was expected to spend a few days in Beira before flying to Maputo for a long awaited face-to-face meeting with President Filipe Nyusi.
