Egypt Seeks Candidacy As Non-Permanent Member At UNSC

Cairo — Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri is heading to New York Monday to participate in the United Nations General Assembly vote for non-permanent membership at the United Nations Security Council for the 2016-2017 term.

Egypt is running unopposed for the membership. Out of the five available seats at the UNSC, two are reserved for Africa, for which Egypt and Senegal are running.
