Uganda: NRM Primaries - Kabarole Protestors Break Katanda Bridge

Anti-riot police in Kabarole has been engaged in running battles with angry protesting supporters of NRM elections loser, John Busingye. Busingye lost the NRM Burashya county parliamentary flag bearer seat to Margaret Muhanga - polling 11, 598 votes against her 14, 583 votes. However, Busingye and his supporters rejected the results, accusing the Kabalore District NRM registrar Patrick Kamulindwa of robbing them of their victory.

The supporters stormed Kasenda trading center in Kasenda sub county this morning to express their dissatisfaction. They destroyed and damaged Katanda Bridge which connects Rutete and Kasenda sub counties.
