South Africa: SA Women Go Down to Nigeria in Algeria

press release

The South African women's wheelchair basketball team put in their best showing of the week, but will rue a host of missed scoring chances, as they went down 38-34 to Nigeria at the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation's African Qualifiers in Algiers, Algeria, on Thursday.

Having gone into the match after a convincing win over Morocco on Tuesday, the Sasol Amawheelagirls played well to share the first quarter eight-all, but then several points scoring opportunities went astray as they found themselves 16-14 down at halftime and 27-22 behind at the three-quarter mark.
