Like all students in other universities, UJ students must postpone activism to complete this academic year successfully. They should focus for now solely on their exams.
At the same time, COPE is dismayed that police arrested scores of students near the Kingsway Campus of the University of Johannesburg on Friday at this crucial time in their lives. The students who read the interdict could find no mention of the 700-metre restriction that the court had supposedly imposed. Why could the police not have clarified this matter to achieve a peaceful resolution?
