Mauritius: Factsheets to Sensitise Public Opinion On Ecological Footprint Launched

Three factsheets on Ecological Footprint "How to reduce your ecological footprint at school and household level" geared towards sensitising the community about sustainable consumption and production, were launched by the Minister of Environment, Sustainable Development, Disaster and Beach Management, Mr Jayeshwur Raj Dayal, on 13 November 2015 in Port Louis.

The factsheets targeting households and the school community comprise a number of tips and useful information that can be used to make informed decisions to promote sustainable lifestyle. The first factsheet on Basic facts on ecological footprint provides basic information on the impacts of human activities on the environment and ways and means to measure them. The other factsheets relating to Reducing ecological footprint at school and household levels provide tips with regard to efficient utilisation of resources at the household and school level respectively.
