Nigeria: AGF Petitioned Over Bribery Allegation Against CCT Chairman

A group called Save Nigeria Group (SNG) has said following charges of bribery, corruption and abuse of office levelled against chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Mr. Danladi Umar, and based on the advice of the National Judicial Council, President Muhammadu Buhari should begin the process of his removal.

SNG, which also demanded the prosecution of the CCT chairman by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), said he should be suspended pending the completion of his removal process. The group, which articulated its demands in a three-page petition signed by its National Coordinator, Benedict Ezeagu, and submitted to the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation on Friday, November 13, expressed its desire to get a timely response to its letter from the nation's chief law officer.
