Liberia: College of Physicians & Surgeon President Boast Progress

Nearly every year, health workers and medical students strike for benefits and stipends. As the result of the numerous strikes, many Liberians who graduate from Liberia's lone medical college, A. M. Dogloitti College of Medicine, and leave for specialization in the United States after their internship, do not return.

Something that the President of the Liberia College of Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Roseda Marshall, says is a brain drain and calls for more support in building the capacity of doctors. Speaking at a press conference in Monrovia, she thanked the Liberian President, former Health Minister Walter Gwenigale and the National Legislature for the law establishing the college.
