Liberia: Civil Society Groups Remind Lawmakers of Land Rights Act

Monrovia — A working group of 17-civil society organization (CSOs) has vowed to remain committed to ensuring that the draft 'Land Rights Act' (LRA) before the Liberian Legislature is passed into law, as the group has said land is aligned with public sentiment and interests of the largest population of Liberians.

The Program Associate of Natural Resource Women Platform, Wayor Tipayson said: "Because of the importance, the sentiment and interest Liberians attached to land, during our consultations the LRA has set out procedures and mechanisms to help eliminate poverty, remedy marginalization and strengthen the rights and economic power of all Liberians".
