Tunisia: German Delegation Explores Tunisian Photovoltaic Energy Market

Tunis — With more than 3,000 hours sunshine a year, photovoltaic should be the primary energy source in Tunisia, but conditions for the development of this niche has to be created, said Director General of the Tunisian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) Martin Henkelmann.

These include the adoption of a clear policy and legal reforms in this area, in view of the growing economic pressure with a rise in electricity demand of 4 to 6% a year, he noted at a seminar on "photovoltaics and energy storage technology" held within the framework of a visit made by a delegation of 8 German companies operating in the photovoltaic sector.
