Liberia: EU Supports Stance to Curb Violence Against Women.

In observance of this year's 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence in Liberia, European Union Ambassador to Liberia, Tiina Intelmann, has welcomed the Government of Liberia's efforts to curb violence against women.

In her remarks at an official function in Monrovia, to launch the Liberian programme for the 16-day global campaign which runs from 25 November to 16 December 2015, the EU envoy said the government has taken important steps to address the challenge of violence against women and girls, including the creation of a special SGBV Crime Unit to bolster the investigation and prosecution of these crimes.
