South Africa: Chinese Women Nabbed for R27 Million Corruption

Tian Tian Wang, a 26-year-old Chinese national, appeared before the Pretoria Regional Court on Friday following her arrest shortly after she paid a R5.2 million bribe to an employee of the South African Reserve Bank in Brooklyn, Pretoria on Thursday.

The Reserve Bank official had noticed a suspicious bank account with R27 million which was scheduled to be transferred abroad in contravention of the Exchange Rate Act. The money was coming from a dubious company whose registered owner new nothing about the existence of the company.
