About 253 national examination markers have not been paid. Permanent secretary of education Sanet Steenkamp confirmed this in a press release issued last week.
She said a total of 1674 markers were appointed to mark Grade 10 examinations, while 806 were to mark Grade 12 Ordinary Level and 240 Grade 12 higher level examinations.
