Ethiopia: Excessive Experimentation On Gov't Structure

Corporations and cooperation were common features of the Ethiopian government structure during the era of the Derg.

But, these days, corporation looks to be coming back. According to the new restructuring of the executive branch of government, the next five years will see the advent of six more new corporations in agriculture, trade, construction and other sectors. This is on top of redefining the duties and responsibilities in various government organs. And hence, the level of executive organ restructuring looks to be raising eyebrows, writes Asrat Seyoum.
