Nigeria: '15,000 Women Screened for Cervical Cancer in the North'

Abuja — Despite the widespread cases of cervical cancer among Nigerian women in recent times, the wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Zainab Bagudu, is optimistic that the fight against the disease could be won with more efforts from stakeholders in the health sector.

She said in the last six years, the Medicare Cancer Foundation, which she put in place has so far freely screened 15,000 women suffering from cancer related diseases, especially in Abuja and other parts of northern Nigeria in 2015.
