Mauritius: Govt Prepares Its Greenhouse Gas Inventory

A training workshop on Greenhouse Gas Inventory, organised at the initiative of the Ministry of Environment, Sustainable Development, and Disaster and Beach Management, kicked off this morning at Hennessy Hotel, Ebène.

Present at the opening ceremony, the Minister of Environment, Sustainable Development, and Disaster and Beach Management, Mr Jayeshwur Raj Dayal, stated that the Republic of Mauritius as a signatory of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has the obligation to submit, on a regular basis, National Communications to provide information on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories, measures to mitigate and facilitate adaptation to climate change and any other information that is considered relevant to the achievement of the objective of the Convention.
